Full album art I made for the Swiss metal band Akroasis. This is their second album, Hubris, and my second time working with them as well. You can see part of my work for the first album ("Ilion") here.
As the first one, Hubris is also a Greek-mythology-inspired conceptual album. Hubris is a concept from ancient Greece that means excessive pride or arrogance, often leading to shame or punishment for the person defying the gods.
In terms of design, the project comprised creating the entire art for both digipak and vinyl editions, including the different inner panels and the booklets.

The inner pieces continue the topic of the key art, playing with the arrows and stone concept for the rear inlay and CD label and highlighting Niobe in the left panel.
I usually use a mix of 3D and digital painting techniques for these projects.

I love how working in 3D enables me to smoothly experiment with compositions and camera angles. Typically, I create a mix of 3D and 2D sketches by blending quick renders with simple over-painting in Photoshop. Then, I share these sketches with the band, allowing them to choose their preferred direction. You will find additional behind-the-scenes content below, which highlights some of the early drafts during the initial exploration:
After finishing the external designs, the last step was to create the booklet for the digipak edition and the lyrics sheet for the vinyl. I maintained the stone-like look & feel and combined band member photos provided by Akroasis with subtle visuals that reflected the lyrics.
